MY NEW RED BLAZER
My favorite colors in the world are navy blue, bright red and mustard yellow. Last month, I fell hard for an H&M navy blazer and had to bring it on home, quickly making it a staple in my clothing rotation. This month? Let’s just say I kept up the blazer love when I found a bright red blazer over the holiday weekend at Forever 21 (I bargain shop, peeps!) that had my name all over it. Love it!
I’d had my eye on these bags for some time. While I was out in LA earlier this month, I spotted this particular one (LOVE the neon!) at a cute shop on Abbott Kinney and couldn’t resist. Perfect for my lunch! I can see myself ordering a few more to have on hand for everything from beach trips to picnics to a last-minute grocery run.
DESTINY OF THE REPUBLIC
This book is one of THE best non-fiction reads I’ve ever laid hands on. I don’t read non-fiction all that often, but had heard this was one of those types that reads like fiction and sure enough, I couldn’t put it down. Millard meticulously researches the life of President James Garfield and the harrowing events of his assassination. It plays like a who’s who of turn-of-the-century notable names. I learned so much about Garfield, found him to be such a compassionate hero and came out being SO grateful to live in this era of modern medicine.
Start to finish this album is so good, it’s for sure making its way into my Top 10 albums of 2012. Get ready to hear “Ho Hey” a LOT as it’s beyond addictive. Try not to clap along or tap your foot to that one. My personal fave track on the album? “Slow It Down.” Sexiness in bar chord form (wink wink).
So behind on this show, but the second season of Sherlock is only three episodes (so I know I can catch up) and the first season that aired last year? Some of the most creative programming I saw on TV in 2011. Benedict Cumberbatch is on the fast track to becoming America’s new “It” actor, so keep an eye on that Brit. In the meantime, he makes an incredible Sherlock Holmes.
