Last month, Nick and I took a quiet EARLY Saturday morning to meet up with my talented photo bestie, Betsy, to have her take some photos that would capture this 9 month pregnancy journey for us. I think we were BOTH nervous to step in front of the camera (Nick especially is one to get camera shy), but I have to say, I’m so smitten with the gift Betsy has given us.
As I enter these last few weeks of pregnancy (with heartburn and the weariness that accompany them), I’m feeling more and more ready to have my body back to myself (and to meet our son, OF COURSE!) But I know there will come a time when I get wistful about being pregnant and I owe my dear friend a debt of gratitude for giving me these images to help me remember this incredibly happy time of expecting the start of our family.
Thank you from the BOTTOM of my heart, Bets!

I have to say… when I was pregnant with Ava, I honestly couldn’t remember what it felt like to NOT be pregnant. Although I was ready for her to join us, I was sad to see that phase of life end. It wasn’t two days after her birth that I literally couldn’t remember what it felt like TO be pregnant. So weird how that happens. For that, and so many reasons, I still cherish our maternity photos (and really all photos of me carrying her). I’m so glad you had this done.
That is really sweet. As is the way your hubby is looking at you in that last picture :)
I’m in love with these photos too! Pregnancy looks so good on you:) I can’t wait to meet (on ichat hah) your son soon too! Yay! Can’t wait to see Betsy’s shoot tomorrow:)
So excited for you guys!! Betsy did a wonderful job. (And can Nick please share some of his tan with us fair skinned folk?!)
You gorgeous thing, you! Way too beautiful. So excited for you. :D
Love it! You are amazingly beautiful! And seriously, the dress? Awesome! The colors in the dress match perfectly to your setting. Did the photog in you do that or was it happy coincidence?
Chris, TOTALLY a happy coincidence! And the dress is actually a skirt from Ruche that I fell in love with. It’s non-maternity, so I like knowing I can still wear it post-pregnancy :)
Such a great shoot! You are glowing, Gail, I love it! We’re so excited for you guys. :)
That last shot is so gorgeous, one of my favorite images of you ever and it’s topped off with that baby bump. ps-the heartburn will totally be worth it when your little one is born with a head full of hair:)
