Canvas Love

I was SUPER excited when my friend and fellow photographer Kelly Heasley said she wanted to order a canvas from the session I did for her and her sweet hubby, Garth, back in October. (If you need a refresher on the awesomeness that was that post).

Even more exciting? Seeing just how GORGEOUS that canvas turned out! Here it is all happy in its new home in Kelly’s living room. Isn’t it perfect? Almost as if that’s what that wall had been missing the entire time!

The great thing about canvases is how the image wraps all the way around the mounting. Sneaky huh? :) Going with a professional company for the binding ensures you get your money’s worth when it comes to details like how the corners are made and the quality of the material itself. I’ve seen people try to do-it-themselves with cheaper canvases that have looked nowhere NEAR this good. And ready to hang, right out of the box! If you’re interested in making your own home’s walls sings with images from your session with me, shoot me an e-mail at gail[at]gailwernerphoto.com. A canvas is really the BEST way to display your favorite image. Destined to be a conversation piece!

New wedding albums for a new year

I’m super excited to announce that I’ve selected a new vendor for my wedding albums and now that I’ve got my first sample album in hand, I couldn’t be happier with the results! Do you all remember Gaylena and Kevin’s GORGEOUS wedding? I couldn’t think of a better couple for the sample album of my new offering! These albums are available in three sizes to choose from—8×10, 9×12, 11×14 (the album shown here is 9×12). Each is hand-stamped on the cover with the couple’s name—a touch I adore! For prospective brides, my pricing packages for 2010 include options that offer album credits so don’t hesitate to ask for more details!

I want to say something here and it’s about the importance of the QUALITY of your wedding album. With today’s market for wedding photographers, I know there are plenty in the industry who offer prospective brides what these women think is a lot of bang for their buck, packages for less than $2,000 that promise you all the bells and whistles and include your digital files and a wedding album.

Brides, it will be up to you to to discern who’s being honest in what they’re trying to sell you. In my opinion, if you’re going to invest in a wedding album, you want to invest in something your grandchildren’s grandchildren can pass down some day. I promise you, these new Leather Craftsmen albums I’m offering WILL NOT disappoint in that department!

Every spread is designed by me using InDesign, a software program I just adore! I prefer to stick with clean and simple layouts for your pages because I want my clients’ books to have a timeless feel.

I truly believe your wedding album is the best investment you can make of your wedding day—so much so, that it doesn’t matter WHEN you want your album from me, I just hope you get it. So if you’re a past bride of mine or one in the near future who hasn’t budgeted an album into your plans, just know I’ll still be here and ready, HAPPY to design your book if (and hopefully when) you want one!

If you’re a client interested in wedding albums, drop me an email to ask about payment plans. Again, I’ll just say that I think albums are a quintessential part of your wedding day memories. I adore my own and my wish is for clients to recognize their importance when trying to preserve the moments of their own big day.

Now offering custom-designed client guest books

I’m introducing a new line of both guest books and albums starting with my 2010 brides and I’m so excited to play a game of show-and-tell with all of you!

When Nicole contacted me shortly after her fall engagement session about wanting a guest book, I happily reported I was in the process of seeking a vendor for that very thing. With guest books and wedding albums, I give my client the option to pick their favorite image or images from the session and from there I design a cover based on their selection. This was Nicole’s pick for a full spread cover and I can see why. Doesn’t she have the SWEETEST smile here?

:)

Inside the book, the pages are customized with photographs from your engagement session. I make sure to leave plenty of white space throughout the book so your guests have plenty of room to sign their names and offer the couple well wishes.

The size of the book is 8 inches by 8 inches and contains 15 spreads (so 30 pages total, front and back)

The pages are gutterless, but still lay flat for easy browsing and are made from heavy, creamy paper — you have to see one in person to see how gorgeous they are!

The books are made with quality materials to ensure that years after your wedding, you’ll still be able to crack it open as if it’s brand-new!

For 2010 brides who’ve already booked with me, there’s still time to order a custom-designed guest book of your wedding day! Contact me via e-mail for more details. The guest books are available at an a la carte price but are also included in a wedding package I offer that includes a wedding album. Both make excellent mementos of your wedding day :)
