Odds & Ends

Did this week go fast for anybody else? I feel like I blinked and suddenly it’s Friday! I’m looking forward to this weekend so much! Nick and I are going to get some family photos taken with Dean by my dear friend Betsy. She does such lovely studio work that I can’t wait to see what she captures of us (I’m just praying Dean cooperates! Now I know how it feels for families on the other side of MY camera!) After that we’ll have some QT with my family and hopefully be able to enjoy what’s supposed to be a nice spring weekend — FINALLY!

Until then, here’s a few Odds & Ends I found on the Internet as of late. Enjoy!

Odds & Ends

Hey all….I’m not sure if I’m up to speed with making Odds & Ends posts a weekly installment on the blog yet or just whenever my inbox is overflowing with stuff I want to share with you all–which is the case at the moment (I email links to myself for these posts — how silly right?).

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I have a meet-up with my book club tonight (I LOVE those women so much and we’re discussing a book I really loved called Still Alice — review forthcoming!). On Saturday, Nick and I have a date! We’re hoping to see the new Tina Fey-Paul Rudd flick, Admission. (Because those two together in a film is my cinematic equivalent of PB&J). Can’t wait! And of course, I’ll be cuddling on my boy all weekend — we’re THISCLOSE to him mastering how to roll over, so I’ll be cheering him on like the proud mama I am!

ODDS & ENDS

Hey friends, hope you all have a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day weekend! Nick and I are headed up to Fort Wayne to visit my family. My dad’s birthday is tomorrow (he’ll be 70 years old which seems IMPOSSIBLE!) and my mom’s is Saturday. I love to hear her talk about how, as a St. Patrick’s Day baby, she thought that meant she was Irish until one of her elementary school teachers set her straight! Don’t forget to wear your green!

And in honor of TGIF, here’s a few of the recent odds and ends from the Internet I’ve been loving.

Odds & Ends

It’s been a while since I’ve shared some of my favorite latest and greatest bits of the Internet with you, so here goes:

First up, I pretty much adore Reese Witherspoon. In a pocket of my imaginary life I live in California, I’m her BFF (the same with Gwyneth Paltrow), which means of COURSE she’d invite me to hang out at her beautiful ranch in Oji. You MUST take a peek of her digs — seriously swoonworthy.

This collection of Olympics logos is pretty rad to look at. Can we all agree that London’s may just be the worst yet?

My brother-in-law posted a link to these celebrity make-UNDERS on Facebook and I died laughing. Props to Danny Evans for his mad Photoshopping with these. The bloated Johnny Depp got me too!

A co-worker emailed this next photo to me with the subject line “Wish I’d thought of this”. Cupcake push pops? Wish I had too! YUM!

Somebody Pinned an outfit from this AMAZING (and key word: pretty affordable) clothing site and I was suddenly asking myself, “Why have I never heard of this store before?” It’s a good thing I’m pregnant right now and not shelling out much in the fashion department or else duds like this dress would be putting a dent in my pocketbook for fall! (check out their jewelry too — some awesome statement necklaces there at a fraction of an Anthro price!)

As a library lover, this Flickr collection of retro library posters had the book worm in me MAJORLY crushing.

And finally, a bit of movie love to look forward to:

Have you all seen the trailer for Ruby Sparks? I could not love Paul Dano (of Little Miss Sunshine) and Zoe Kazan MORE but there is so much about this trailer that put the biggest smile on my face — totally original plot (how rare in Hollywood these days), written BY Zoe (who’s TWENTY EIGHT, by the way) and starring Paul and Zoe who are a cute-as-can-be couple in real life…these are the kind of movies I make the extra effort to get to the arty theater in Indianapolis for :)

And because it was one of my FAVORITE Pixar movies, I just wanted to make sure you all knew that those brilliant animators are making a SEQUEL to Monsters, Inc! It’s all about how Mike and Sulley met in COLLEGE (which, coincidentally, this movie came out while I was in college—Nick bought it for me shortly after we started dating. ON VHS TAPE NO LESS (I’m old! haha)). I’m pretty sure a lot of these jokes are going to go right over the heads of little ones who see this. Which means you KNOW these guys made this movie for all the adults who love this duo ;)

Odds & Ends

This fall pumpkin bread just needs to get in my mouth already. I have the best of intentions to make it this weekend in my month-long effort to squeeze every last drop of goodness out of this short-lived season I love so much.

I’m wishing I would have borrowed a page out of photographer Tom Robinson’s idea book for Nick and I’s travels when it came to this FABULOUS essay of his. Check out “Feet First”– it’s impossible not to fall in love with the photos you find there.

My beloved Coldplay’s new album drops next week and I am giddy with excitement. I can’t help it…Chris Martin had me at “Yellow”. I’ve been hooked ever since and loved watching this profile on the boys on this week’s CBS Sunday Morning. If you’re a fan, it’s a must-see!

This Tumblr account is like the PostSecret confessions of all book nerds. I AM OBSESSED.

This Evolution of Apple Advertising is the equivalent of a semester’s worth of brand and marketing training in one post. Fascinating to see the growth and the development of the company over 30 years. And to take note of when Apple decided to start being different—and to see how that made all the difference in becoming the brand they are today. (Also fun to see when their iconic font came into play!)

Have you seen these free posters yet? SWOON.

I love EVERYTHING about this video — from the clothes to the Charleston/mod/hip hop dance moves. Makes me happy :)
